Scotland Gathering 2023

The next Macnab Gathering is planned for July 31 through August 3, 2023 in the heart of Macnab country : Killin, Scotland. Those dates were chosen to coincide with the annual Killin Highland Games.

In addition to the Games, there will be an evening dinner and music, opportunities to commune with the dead on Innis Bhuidhe (the Macnab burial island), and of course the presence of our warm and wonderful Chief, Jamie Macnab of Macnab.

We are also putting together what we have dubbed the “Magical History Tour”. This will include sights and sites of relevance to the history of Clan Macnab in Breadalbane. We have hired local guide and history buff Andrew McIntyre of “Get off the Beaten Path in Scotland” to be our guide for this full day sampler of the places, people and stories that make up the history of the Clan Macnab in Breadalbane. Through the day, we’ll take you full circle from the dawn of Clan Macnab, to the demise of the Bovain Chiefs, to the rise of the Arthurstone Chiefs.

Andrew is a consummate storyteller, with the gift of making history come alive; he’ll work hand in hand with our Shennachie (historian and genealogist), Loraine Smith, to ensure that the history you experience is as accurate and colorful as possible. It promises to be an unforgettable day!

We anticipate that the key events of this Gathering will sell out early, so if you are planning to attend, please RSVP on our website to let us know of your interest, what events you want to attend, and how many will be in your party. All attendees will be responsible for booking their own transportation to Scotland and to Killin, as well as their own accommodations. Tickets are all sold through the website.
